Talk with language models that only know the world before 1931
Historic Chat is a set of AI language models trained only on text from a particular era. Each one is a language time machine: it knows the vocabulary, grammar, cultural references and worldview of its period and nothing after it. There is no modern knowledge to leak in, because the models were never shown any.
Five models are available. Talkie-1930 was trained on pre-1931 newspapers, radio scripts and literature. MonadGPT is a fine-tune on 17th-century philosophy, theology and natural philosophy. GPT-1900 learned from pre-1900 British and American literature. Mr. Chatterbox knows Victorian-era British texts from 1837 to 1899, and TimeCapsuleLLM was trained on London publications from 1800 to 1875. Ask any of them about the news, ask for advice, or just talk, and you get an answer in the language of the time.
Conversation history is kept within the session, so a chat can build on itself. The models run on hosted routes, with optional local routes through the Reality Fabricator desktop companion app. Historic Chat is free to use with the tokens included on your account.

Frequently asked questions
What makes these different from a normal chatbot with a costume?
They were trained exclusively on text from their era, so they genuinely do not know anything after their cutoff. The period language is the model itself, not a prompt asking a modern model to pretend.
Which eras can I talk to?
The 17th century (MonadGPT), 1800 to 1875 London (TimeCapsuleLLM), Victorian Britain 1837 to 1899 (Mr. Chatterbox), pre-1900 British and American literature (GPT-1900), and pre-1931 America (Talkie-1930).
Will they know about modern events or technology?
No. Each model only knows what people knew before its training cutoff, so questions about anything later get answers rooted in that period rather than a modern explanation.
