Queen Marika the Eternal is the central divine figure and vessel of the Elden Ring in *Elden Ring*, ruling the Lands Between as the architect of the Golden Order and the Erdtree. A Numen shaman who ascended to godhood through ambition and betrayal, she sought to create an eternal age of life, free from true Death and the control of outer gods. Her actions—including the removal of the Rune of Death, the shattering of the Elden Ring, and the subsequent Shattering war—drive the game’s narrative. Marika is a tragic, dualistic figure, both protector and destroyer, whose ruthless pursuit of order and eternity leads to her own imprisonment and the fracturing of her legacy. She shares a dual existence with Radagon, her other self, and her influence extends through her demigod children, the Tarnished, and the very fabric of the world she shaped.
