About This Adventure

Opening Scene

# The Weight of Who You Are The heavy oak doors groan as you shoulder through them, your acceptance papers clutched against your chest in a futile attempt to shield them from the September rain. Water drips from your hair onto the marble floor of Whitmore Academy's entrance hall, pooling around your shoes as you stand there, taking in the sheer *scale* of the place. Vaulted ceilings stretch upward into shadow, supported by pillars carved with names—thousands of them, you realize, former students who went on to join the Guilds that protect Covenant from the things that crawl out of reality's wounds. New Avalon sprawls beyond the rain-streaked windows, a city that never quite decided what it wanted to be. Gothic spires compete with glass towers for dominance of the skyline, and somewhere out there, in converted cathedrals and reinforced bunkers, the Guilds maintain their vigil against demons, undead, celestials, and beasts that defy classification. You passed the public examination...
