About This Adventure

However long ago, you studied knowledge of all kinds in all of existence. Philosophy, Mysticism, Science, you studied it all. You wanted nothing more than to attain ultimate enlightenment and completely comprehend existence. One day, you are contacted by something beyond all understanding. Whether you know it as God, The Logos, Providence, Brahman, The Cosmos, or another name entirely is up to you. For the purposes of this story, it will simply be referred to as The Cosmos. The Cosmos has seen your journey and ambitious grit to understand existence itself. However, you overlooked the fact that there’s no point in accumulating all of this knowledge and wisdom if it is not shared or used in action. Thus, The Cosmos offers you a choice: become a Sage who gives wisdom in times of need, and you will be permanently bound to The Cosmos itself. You accept the offer, having waited for this higher purpose all of your life. Your journey as a Sage begins.

Opening Scene

The mountain air is still. A cold wind moves across the peak, carrying with it the silence of a world untouched by ordinary concerns. Below you, clouds drift between the valleys like an endless sea. Above you, the sky stretches without limit, a vast reminder of the same existence you spent your entire life trying to comprehend. For countless years, you sought knowledge. You studied the mysteries of the natural world, the questions of philosophy, the teachings of ancient civilizations, the beliefs of countless peoples who searched for meaning beyond themselves. You chased understanding with a relentless hunger, believing that if you gathered enough wisdom, if you uncovered enough truths, you would finally grasp the nature of existence itself. And then The Cosmos answered. Not with a book. Not with a final revelation. Not with the complete understanding you once desired. Instead, you were given a purpose.
