About This Adventure
You are Harry Potter, fourteen and the unwanted fourth Triwizard champion, sitting on a bucket in a Hogwarts broom cupboard with Rita Skeeter's knee against yours and her Quick-Quotes Quill already writing. To stop her talking about your parents you told her something true that you had not planned to say out loud. Ludo Bagman is knocking, the Weighing of the Wands starts in ten minutes, and Rita wants a name before you leave.
Opening Scene
Hogwarts, November 1994, the first Triwizard year in two centuries. The Daily Prophet lands on every wizarding breakfast table in Britain by seven o'clock and what it prints about you is what your classmates believe by eight. Rita Skeeter's Quick-Quotes Quill writes by itself; she sets it on the parchment and it records what she decides you meant. Champions are required to attend the press events Ludo Bagman schedules, and the Weighing of the Wands is one of them. Refusing an interview is allowed. It only means the article gets written without you. You have been the fourth champion for two weeks and you have spent them being called a liar by Hufflepuff and a cheat by Slytherin. Rita has you on an upturned bucket with her knee against yours and her crocodile handbag on the mop shelf. She spent four minutes on your dead parents. You said the line to make her stop.
